The objective of the competition is to predict the scores for football matches played each round and gain points based on the football scores that you predict correctly.

The more points you gain, the better chance you have of winning.

You will primarily be predicting the Premier League fixtures but on occasions you may have to predict Internationals or any other English League.

You earn points the following way -

Predicting the correct result ( not score ) - 5 points

Predicting the correct score - 9 points

Therefore if you get the score exactly right you earn a total of 9 points.

For example - If you predicted Manchester United to win 2 - 0 but they won 2 - 1, you would gain 5 points, as you predicted the correct result but didn't get the score correct.

Joker

You also get to play 1 joker a round on 1 team. You can only put a joker on a team if you have that team to win or draw.

Once you have chosen a team you can't choose the same team again until that quarter of the season has finished. The joker doubles your points for that game. So choose wisely!

The FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championships are different, in that the jokers will reset after round 4 and again after round 6.

As well as the overall standings, there is a league competition that comprises of two leagues, Premier League and Championship.

The leagues will be run every two month period, so there will be 5 periods throughout the course of the season, running from August to May.

The overall standings from the previous season will determine which league each competitor is in, with the higher positions being placed in the Premier League and newcomers being placed in the Championship.

The top two in each league, after a two month period, will be the winners.

The top two in the Championship will be promoted, after each two month period, with the bottom two in the Premier League relegated.

Push for the highest possible finish in the leagues because this will determine your seed for the cup draws.

Premier Cup

The Premier Cup will have a group and knockout format.

There will be four pots for the draw. Your position, at the beginning of September, in the overall standings, will determine the pot you are placed in, with the highest quarter placed in the first pot, second highest quarter placed in the second pot, and so on.

In the group stages, each week you will play head to head against another competitor in your group, a win will award you 3 cup points, a draw will award you 1 cup point and a loss 0 cup points. The two competitors with the most cup points in the group will progress to the knockout stage.

In the knockout stages, you will play head to head against another competitor, the competitor who wins the most weeks out of 3 weeks will progress to the next round.

If there are competitors who finish on the same number of cup points, then the competitor with the most prediction points will progress. In the event that there is still a tie, the competitor with the most correct results will progress. If the competitors are still tied, then the competitor with the most correct scores will progress.

Champions Cup

The Champions Cup will have a group and knockout format.

There will be four pots for the draw. Your position, at the beginning of February, in the league standings, not overall standings, will determine the pot you are placed in, with the highest quarter placed in the first pot, second highest quarter placed in the second pot, and so on.

The amount of competitors in the competition will determine how many groups there are and the number of competitors in each group.

The group stages will be played over 6 weeks and the knockout stages will be played over 2 weeks for each round.

If there are competitors who finish on the same number of points for that week, then the competitor with the most correct results will progress. In the event that there is still a tie, the competitor with the most correct scores will progress. If the competitors are still tied, then a sudden death match will be played the following week and the competitor with the most points will progress to the next round.

If any fixtures are postponed for that week and no fixtures have started, then the postponed fixture can be changed to another fixture. However, if any of the fixtures have started, jokers will be void, if a player has put their joker on a team from a postponed fixture, and you will only gain points for the fixtures that are played.

If any games to predict are cup games, which involves extra time, then all scores will be after full time.

In the event of competitors finishing on the same points in the league then the tiebreaker will be as follows -

  1. The competitor with the most correct results.
  2. The competitor with the most correct scores.
If the competitors are still even after the deciding factors, then the place will be shared.

If you forget to predict any games, then you will be given pre-set predictions, which will be as follows -

  • Game 1: 4 - 3
  • Game 2: 3 - 3
  • Game 3: 3 - 4
  • Game 4: 4 - 3
  • Game 5: 3 - 3
  • Game 6: 3 - 4
  • Game 7: 4 - 3
  • Game 8: 3 - 3
